Course flooding

I'm As we all know the course has been dealing with near constant rain over the past several weeks. Last week the river roses high enough to push eater out on to the course and flood us from 10 fairwa to 13 green.

our bunkers have been taking a beating too. We are doing everything in our power to get the course into the best possible condition for the Four Ball this weekend! Everything should be tip top, by then, unless mother nature throws us a curve ball.

Here are a few pictures from the flood event. These pictures really do not show the true magnitude of the event.

First Verticutting of year.

Yesterday we performed our first verticutting of the greens this year.
We implement this cultural practice approximatly every other week thru the growing season. During aerification we also perform a much more aggressive verticut.
Here are some pics if the procedure from yesterday.

Starting tomorrow, april 22, we will be able to go 90 degrees!!! Unless, of course, it rains tonight!!!
I beleive our wet spring is going to continue, so please pay attention to signage or ask Golf Shop if conditions are in question.
Once again we are asking to remain  cartpath Only on the par three holes and on 11 and 16.

Topdressing

We are continuing our weekly topdressing program, alrhough we missed last week due to weather. We topdress lightly every week through the growung season. Typically we drag it in with a cocoa mat like today, sometimes however we will use a roller or simply water in the sand.

Storm Last night

We had a fairly strong storm or two come through last night. We are fortunate that only one tree fell on the course. Our bunkers are completly washed and the added soaking rain has set our mowing schedule back, again. The amount of debris on the greens this morning has made preparations for play take two+ hours longer than ususal. The Good news is that the hail did not damage the greens. We were able to roll the greens and then mow them this morning, the putting surfaces are good!
Hail on 9 green last night.

Washed bunkers

Tree down across one cartpath.

Cartpath Only....for now

I just wanted to remind everyone we are still Cartpath Only until the course is growing, and dries out a little. Hopefully next week will bring the needed sunshine and dry weather.

I would also like to ask that everyone continue to fill divots and fix their ball marks on the greens. Here is a great video on the proper way to repair those ball marks! https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152934944224369
